Free Dental Exam or Consultation for General or Cosmetic Procedure

Dental veneers are thin customized shells made of tooth-colored materials, and are designed to cover the front side of your teeth. They are a popular cosmetic solution to correcting stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth; veneers can even correct problems such as gaps.

Preparing for Veneers

Before receiving your veneers, Dr. Mike Hanley will first remove a small layer of enamel from your teeth; this is to accommodate room for the veneers to fit properly. Then, Dr. Mike Hanley will create a unique model of your teeth. This model is later sent to a dental lab technician specialist who will create a customized set of veneers to fit your teeth based on that model. Once the veneers have been created and sent to us, Dr. Mike Hanley will test the fit of the veneers; if they are a proper fit, he will bond the veneers in place.

Maintaining Your Veneers

The way you care for your veneers is similar to how you would care for your natural teeth; make sure you brush twice a day with a non-abrasive, fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled brush. Also be sure to floss at least once a day, so you can maintain the health of your veneers.

In addition, while veneers are stain-resistant, we recommend that you avoid drinks that easily stain, such as coffee, tea, and red wine. We also recommend that you avoid tobacco products. By doing so, you can maintain the brightness of your new smile for much longer!
