DENTAL (TEETH) BONDING IN CHESTER, VA
Bonding is a type of cosmetic treatment used to repair teeth that are discolored or have minor chips. A special dental material—such as porcelain or resin—is used to “bond” to the affected tooth in order to change its shape and/or color.
COSMETIC TEETH BONDING PROCEDURE
Once we have attached the dental material to your tooth, we will fuse the tooth’s natural tooth enamel with the porcelain and resin bonding materials in order to create a strong structure that matches the feel of your natural tooth. We will then sculpt and mold the material to match the shape of your natural teeth.
BONDING AND TOOTH FILLINGS
While tooth bonding is more commonly used to repair small chips in the teeth, the materials used can also be used for fillings instead of traditional amalgam. Many of our patients prefer using the porcelain and resin fillings because its white color blends more naturally with natural teeth, unlike the silver amalgam. Bonding fillings can be used on your back or front teeth, depending on their location and the extent of the cavity/tooth decay.
